How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I've always had an interest in metabolism and nutrition and was a founding member and Past President of the Florida Association for Nutritional Support. Regarding background, I was an Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of the Division of Vascular Surgery at the University of South Florida for many years and was certified in General and Vascular surgery both by the American Board of Surgery. I am also certified in bariatric medicine by the American Board of Bariatric (now Obesity) Medicine. I have over fifty publications in the medical literature.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Medically supervised weight management program featuring thorough patient education and close clinical followup by physician and trained nurses. We also feature a reasonable long term plan to manage weight effectively and minimize regain after excess weight is lost.
The St. Petersburg location contains the Emerald Laser Center which features the brand new 3rd generation Emerald Laser - a 532 nm low level green laser featuring 67% more laser diodes delivering 67% greater laser energy than older model green lasers. It is the only medical device FDA approved as effective for focal fat reduction/body contouring and improvement in the appearance of cellulite!

We have three Pinellas locations now and plan to add a fourth in the near future. Eventually will expand to Hillsborough county.
